Culture and Art
Every culture leaves traces of itself through art, architecture, language, and storytelling.
Overview
Through my immersive experiences in France, French language studies, and community-based art projects, I explored how culture shapes artistic expression and creative perspectives. Traveling and studying art in different environments allowed me to observe how architecture, public spaces, fashion, language, and visual aesthetics reflect the values and history of a culture.
I became more aware of how art is deeply connected to place and identity. From observing classical artwork and urban design in France to creating multicultural portraits during community events, I learned that artistic expression is influenced by cultural traditions, social environments, and shared experiences.
Reflection
These experiences helped me understand that art is shaped by the cultural environments in which it is created. Different societies value different forms of beauty, storytelling, and expression, and those values become visible through architecture, fashion, music, public art, and everyday design.
By engaging with art across different cultural settings, I developed a greater appreciation for diversity in artistic perspectives. I also realized that art can become a bridge between people from different backgrounds, creating shared experiences even when language and traditions differ.
